When introducing myself to new people, I’m always asked the question “So what do you do”. When I worked in the corporate world, this question was pretty simple to answer. Nowadays, when I answer “I’m a virtual assistant” I generally find myself explaining what that means.
Not that I’m complaining! I’m proud to be part of this thriving global industry and I enjoy introducing friends and colleagues to the concept if they haven’t heard the term before. So what is a Virtual Assistant? According to common industry definitions, “A Virtual Assistant (or a VA) is an independent contractor providing administrative, technical and sometimes creative assistance to clients”.
Virtual Assistants are independent small business owners covering a range of industries such as Bookkeeping & Accounting, Web Design, IT, Marketing & PR and Office Management to name just a few. So, generally speaking, Virtual Assistants are usually highly experienced within their area of specialty and many VA’s are able to establish a niche for themselves within the industry.
Working with Virtual Assistants is the ultimate way to engage the services of an expert rather than trying to do it all yourself.
What can a Virtual Assistant do for your business?
